Holiday
in paradise

No matter what time of year you visit us in the Vinschgau Valley, we offer a dream vacation for every weather condition and season. From Lake Reschen to Merano, there is an endless number of activities to enjoy during your leisure time and holiday, whether you're an active traveler, a romantic couple, or a family.

300 days of sunshine and a breathtaking variety of nature, culture, and recreational opportunities make the Vinschgau Valley a unique region in the Alps.

In spring, you can experience the full diversity: hiking on the Sonnenberg (Sun Mountain), the apple blossoms in the valley, and in Sulden, you can still enjoy perfect snow until the end of May.

In summer, hikers and mountain bikers have endless options, with beautiful summit crosses, scenic alpine passes, and panoramic views.

The colorful autumn, harvest festivals, and hiking and biking tours can be enjoyed in the sunshine all the way through November.

In winter, the mountains are covered in snow, but the Vinschgau Sonnenberg often remains snow-free, allowing for lovely hikes along the historic irrigation channels (Waalwege), even in winter.

Some suggestions for adventures

Hiking to Schloss Juval

Directly from the house, you can stroll through the picturesque village of Tschars and along the Waalweg trail to Juval Castle.

The MMM Juval, located in Reinhold Messner's private castle of the same name in the Vinschgau Valley, is dedicated to the myth of the mountain. Here, you can see his extensive adventure library and Tibetica collection, a gallery of images of the sacred mountains of the world, a mask collection from five continents, his expedition cellar, the unique exhibition on Gesar Ling, the Tantra room, and Renaissance frescoes.

The entire exhibition is explained by trained guides. Additionally, there is a small mountain animal park, the Schlosswirt inn offering home-made products, excellent wines at the Unterortl Winery, and a farm shop at the foot of the castle hill. Visitors leave Juval Castle with strong impressions.

Via Vinum Venostis

The Vinschgau Wine Trail is an invitation to hikers for an insightful and enjoyable tour throughout the year. For large stretches, the wine trail follows the Waal paths, which were once created as artificial irrigation channels. It passes by farms and vineyards along the way. The people who live and work here are happy to share insights into their way of life and work. Hikers and nature lovers are encouraged to respect the property and customs of the area and approach nature with care. Along the trail, information boards provide details on the landscape and wine, as well as local guesthouses and wine cellars.

Radweg Via Claudia

Bike traveling

The Via Claudia Augusta is probably the most famous cycle path, stretching from Augsburg to Venice. The most beautiful section runs from the Reschen Pass through the Vinschgau Valley to Merano.

We are happy to assist with planning a wonderful experience. There are many options to combine rental bikes with trains and buses.

Bike Trails

Bike Eldorado Vinschgau. Enjoy mountainbiking

The Vinschgau's density and variety of trails are virtually endless, and the climate makes year-round biking almost possible. However, the sunny valley of the Alps remained under the radar for a long time.

Now, after almost 20 years, Vinschgau is well-known and loved by bikers. And this applies to all types of mountain bikers.

Marathon riders look forward to the long ascents and beautiful descents, while lovers of high alpine landscapes will find numerous passes, crossings, peaks, and the most interesting trails in the region.

There is also a wide range of options for Enduro and Freeride bikers, with shuttles and lifts quickly taking you to the mountain, and dry trails of all kinds awaiting you at the top.

For the sportily ambitious e-biker, there are plenty of opportunities to test your uphill skills as well.
